Cherry blossom: 'The loveliest of trees'
Robert Browning's poem, Home Thoughts, from Abroad, was one of my favourites during the year I spent as an au pair in Italy many years ago. Like him, I had loved the mild Mediterranean winter and relished the blue skies and clear air. But come April, cooped up in Rome, a city with too many people and far too few trees, I too was nostalgic for home. (22/04) Read
