How green is my garden?

From mid-autumn to mid-spring, when not doing the deadline dance that all journalists face, I spend a great deal of time reading about gardening, whether in magazines, online in blogs, gardening websites and in catalogues or books. It's a measure of the popularity of gardening that there continues to be a wealth of books released on the subject.
