A little bling can redirect a woodpecker's attention
Several folks have asked what to do when woodpeckers rap repeatedly on nearby trees or buildings. Called drumming, this repetitive noise can be as annoying as rap music, especially when you wonder what it's doing to your home's siding. The good news is that your siding is probably fine. Though woodpeckers often return to homes or buildings where their drumming is successful, according to wildlife expert Russell Link, these persistent birds rarely peck through wooden siding.
